Zouk Sundays
Two levels back to back, then a social to use what you just learned. No partner needed.
What this is
A room where beginners are the point, not the exception.
Six Sundays is enough to get the fundamentals under you, and enough to start noticing what connection actually is: how you listen through a frame, how you make room for someone else's weight and timing, how much gets said without anything being said.
Zouk runs on connection — a conversation held through the body rather than counted out in steps. It is a specific, learnable skill, it carries into every other partner dance you will ever do, and it tends not to stay on the dance floor.

How an evening runs
Six Sundays, November 1 to December 6.
-
5:30 – 6:40
Level 1
Start here. No zouk and no partner dancing assumed — most of the room will be in exactly the same position.
-
6:40 – 6:50
Break
Ten minutes to catch your breath, grab water and swap partners.
-
6:50 – 8:00
Level 2
For dancers with roughly a year of zouk or another partner dance behind them. This hour works on movement that wants a foundation under it, so if you are unsure where you sit, ask — we would rather place you well than leave you guessing.
-
8:00 – 9:00
Social
Open to everyone, and free if you are taking the series. No instruction, just dancing.
