Eight years dancing. Teaches the dance Victoria is only just discovering.
Adrian Wilson teaches Salsa, Bachata and Brazilian Zouk in Victoria, BC. He has been dancing for eight years, has performed with Salsa Caliente at NYISC in New York and the World Salsa Congress in Puerto Rico, and won the Salsa Caliente amateur competition in 2025.
After being introduced to Latin dance locally, Adrian continued his training abroad, learning and performing routines with Yamuleé Dance Company, NY Movement and Iroko in eight-hour bootcamps. He has attended dozens of international festivals, including the World Latin Congress in Madrid and Live 2 Mambo, and has taken classes with instructors including Eddie Torres, Bersy Cortez, Adolfo Indacochea, Tania Cannarsa and Fernando Sosa. In Madrid and Barcelona he deepened his Sensual Bachata with Korke & Judit, Marco & Sara, Gero & Migle and many others.
Adrian first studied Brazilian Zouk in Barcelona with Arthur Santos and Michael Anderson, then spent two months immersed in Brazilian dance culture in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. There he trained daily at the Centro Cultural São Paulo, studied with Renata Peçanha, and competed at the Rio Zouk Congress and the International Zouk Congress. He is currently studying the Method Alex de Carvalho (MAC), which breaks Brazilian Zouk movement down into its key elements, and expects to be certified in 2027.
For six weeks, Adrian taught free weekly Salsa, Bachata, Zouk and Merengue classes at Ship Point for the Victoria Latin Dance Association, sponsored by the City of Victoria. Every class drew 100+ dancers of all levels, backgrounds and abilities. He has also taught at inclusive regional events including Otherworld and the Totally Together Collective’s Tune Camp. In the studio he favours progressive series over one-off drop-ins and opens each class with a guided warm-up on posture, frame and isolations, because Brazilian Zouk lives in how the body moves before it lives in any figure.
This fall he is teaching a six-week Brazilian Zouk series with Nicki Pepper at Wild Roots Dance & Yoga, presented by the Victoria Latin Dance Association, and he returns to Brazil in January 2027 to keep training.
